New Irish film The Man in Blue will return to TV in a new series with star Daniel Craig, according to Irish broadcaster RTE.

Craig is said to be excited about the series, which will begin production in the autumn.

It is a return to Ireland after a decade away for Craig who has made a number of feature films in the US including The Theory of Everything and the latest, The Man with the Golden Gun.

The show will also mark Craig’s return to the world of Irish cinema following a short-lived TV show in 2012.

The first of two TV series will air in Ireland next year, following a three-part series in the UK.

It is being produced by Irish filmmaker, director and writer Eamonn Brennan.

The Man with The Golden Gun (2012) was based on the novel by Patrick Pearse.

The movie is the first film to be adapted from the novel.
