The dolls are being sold as a way to help girls learn about fashion and inspire confidence in themselves and their dreams.
The dolls are priced at $39.99 for a full-size, and $29.99 with accessories.
They are the product of the doll company that launched in 2013 with a $10 million investment from a group of investors led by entrepreneur, investor and social media influencer Peter Thiel.
Barbie’s dolls are made from clay and silicone to ensure the dolls do not suffer from hair loss.
They come in various styles from the classic to the whimsical, including the Barbie Fashionist and the Barbie Queen.
Elle Magazine , the magazine that covers fashion, recently featured the dolls in its “Best of 2016” issue.
This past fall, Barbie launched a new line of fashion accessories called the “Bust and Flaunt Barbie” line that includes more than a dozen different styles of the dolls, including more feminine ones.
“This is the beginning of a new era of Barbie dolls,” Mattel said in a statement.
“We are thrilled to be making them available to girls everywhere in a way that is comfortable, fun, and affordable.”
The dolls were created with the help of a former fashion model who created them in partnership with Barbie.
