President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that the GOP has “a way” to get a health care reform bill through the House of Representatives.
In a tweet, Trump said, “If we don’t get healthcare, the Dems will take control of the House and get it passed on their own, as they did with Obamacare.
Very unfair to our great country.”
The tweet came hours after Trump, on the “Late Show With Stephen Colbert” program, said, “…we’ll be bringing health care, we’ll be getting tax relief, and we’ll do it on our own.
We’re going to do it.”
The president’s tweet comes amid a major push by Democrats to advance legislation that would provide tax relief for families making more than $250,000 a year and lower premiums for some older Americans, including those making more, but who are not covered by insurance.
The House is set to vote on the bill on Thursday.
The Senate will also take up the legislation.
