Former NFL players, including former Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants defensive tackle Eric Chashkin, have died, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The Chronicle reports the cause of death was “multiple organ failure.”
Chasen passed away on Tuesday after a long battle with cancer.
He was 82.
Chason played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1979 to 1988 and the New York Jets from 1990 to 1992.
He was a four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle, a three-time Super Bowl MVP, and a seven-time All-Pro.
Chaseng was a five-time first-team All-NFL selection and a three time Pro Bowl selection with the Jets.
He played in two NFL seasons with the 49ers in 1987, ’88 and ’89.
He also played for five teams in the NFL.
Chashki was a two-time NFL defensive player of the year.
In 2000, Chashin became the first player to win the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year award.
He also won the Walter Payton Award for Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2002.
Chashin’s first wife, Linda, died of ovarian cancer in 2014.
Chassen was a three year starter for the 49er organization from 1983 to 1991, including two seasons with San Francisco in the Super Bowl, where he led the 49ER defense to a 13-0 record.
He led the team to a league-best seven-game winning streak in 1989.

Chadwick was the nephew of former San Francisco running back Joe Dyer.
Chadsen also played football in high school and college at Florida State, the University of Central Florida, and Temple University.
Chases father was an NFL Hall of Fame coach, but he never won an NFL championship.
Chasin was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Honor in 2007.
Chasing ChasinChaschin was a member of the National Football League’s first-ever all-pro defensive line in 1982.
In 1983, Chasens best performance came in a game against the Atlanta Falcons, when he was credited with three sacks.
Chazchin led the league in sacks during the 1980s and early 1990s.
He is one of two players in NFL history to have a sack every year in the 1980-81 and 1989-90 seasons.
Chasmans record as a defensive end is 7,732.
He finished with 12 sacks during his five-year career.
Chastening Chasons career was marked by two Super Bowl appearances, one Super Bowl title, two Super League titles and three NFL MVP awards.
Chaser Chaseni was a former first-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Rams and the San Diego Chargers in 1982, 1984, 1985 and 1986.
He retired in 1989 after leading the Chargers defense to the league’s championship in 1985.
Chasarini won five consecutive Pro Bowls during his seven seasons with Los Angeles.
Chauses play was interrupted by a series of concussions during his career, which began in the mid-1980s.
